Finally, the Nakshatras are also useful in determining what matters should be commenced or taken up on hand. Again, Electional Astrology or Muhurat is a very vast subject.

However, the following details may be useful at this stage:

Fixed Nakshatras (Sthira): Rohini, U. Phalguni, U. Shadha or U. Bhadra if coinciding with a SUNDAY are good for commencing any “permanent” matter i.e. vastu, laying foundation, house property, etc.

Movable Nakshatras (Chara): Punarvasu, Swati, Shravana, Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, if coinciding with a MONDAY are auspicious for buying vehicles, starting a machine, journey or for any matters requiring momentum.

Cruel Nakshatras: Bharani, Magha, P. Phalguni, P. Shadha, P. Bhadra if coinciding with a TUESDAY are favorable for matters such as black magic, destruction etc.

Mixed Nakshatras (Mishra): Krittika and Vishakha Nakshatras if coinciding with a WEDNESDAY are good for performing Yagna’s and religious activities.

Small Nakshatras (Laghu): Ashwini, Pushya, Hasta and Abhijit, if coinciding with a THURSDAY are best suited for commencing trade or profession, starting education or for preparing medicines.

Friendly Nakshatras (Maitri): Mrigashisha, Chitra, Anuradha and Revathi if coinciding with a FRIDAY are good for such assignments as making friendships or signing friendship, treaties, etc.

Sharp Nakshatras (Daruna): Ardha, Jyeshtha, Moola and Ashlesha, if coinciding with a SATURDAY are eminently suited for training birds and animals.

Thus, the students would have realized by now, the tremendous importance of Nakshatras in predictive astrology. Admittedly, the matter is by no means easy and requires deep knowledge of very vast paraphernalia of matters associated with the Nakshatras, a reference to which can be made in the attached table.
